PLEASE NOTE: Ohio ENT will continue to be a provider for the Mt Carmel/Trinity associate network. Ohio ENT and Mt Carmel/Trinity are aware Aetna® may be informing Mt Carmel/Trinity associates Ohio ENT will not be a provider for their network effective August 3 and are working to resolve the issue. Dear Ohio ENT Patient:
For the past year Ohio ENT has attempted to work with Aetna® to maintain our status as an in-network provider. On two separate occasions, Aetna® agreed on the terms of an arrangement with Ohio ENT. The latest being June 15th, 2010 when our attorney was finished drafting final very minor language changes to the contract. We had agreed completely on a new contract . Without warning, on June 25th, 2010, Aetna® notified Ohio ENT that they would not honor their agreement and abruptly cancelled Ohio ENT as an in-network provider effective August 3, 2010.
We are making every attempt to accommodate our patients and provide necessary treatment. We asked Aetna® for a 30 day extension to the August 3rd termination date in order to provide a more controlled and less chaotic transition of care on behalf of our patients. The extension was denied.
We apologize for Aetna's® unwillingness to provide an appropriate timeframe to address your care needs. We promise to do our best to maintain continuity of care with you and assist you in the transition of your care to the physician that you choose. If you would like to voice your concerns regarding the disruption of care due to Aetna's® abrupt decision, we recommend you contact your employer and Aetna®.
